Spring New Beginnings

Spring is supposed to feel fresh and easy, but it doesn't always show up that way.
I had major struggles with an endless flare up that doesn't want to give in to all the special treatment I give it. Come on, how many lazy days, pills, and heating pads does it really take?
On top of that, I signed up for the early launch as a challenge to myself. I know I can always reschedule for the second launch, but apparently, I'm into the chaos of the first one. I don't know. Call me a little crazy.
So, I've been working slowly at getting things done. I had a few messy moments, like the time I cut the main wire to my power system. Oops. Yes, I was tired. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I’ve enlisted help for the things I couldn't do alone. Sometimes I just climb on board and sit there, wondering where to start. Sometimes it's just a place to have a shot of vodka and check in on my sanity.
Sometimes that's enough.
So, here's my spring renewal: I'm going to keep showing up. Scared or not. I 'm going to actually learn to sail, not just motor everywhere like a nervous beginner. I'm going to trust the wind a little more. And myself, too.
Nothing fancy, just a promise to try. To be a little less afraid and let spring do its work, on the river and in me.
And maybe that's the whole point.
